The Byron Colby Barn hosts over 100 weddings and special events each year. We have developed relationships with many types of businesses that will be helpful to you in planning your event. The Byron Colby Barn Preferred Vendors will help you create the special event of your dreams! A professional licensed caterer must provide all food service and professional serving staff, and all caterers must have their own commercial kitchen. Selecting from our Preferred Caterers allows for easy event planning. These caterers have extensive experience working at the Byron Colby Barn and offer tasty meal options in a wide price range. We have a high level of confidence in their abilities to offer your guests a delicious meal, from appetizer to entree.

For an additional $400 you may select an outside professional caterer not on our Byron Colby Barn Preferred Vendors list. This represents our time to ensure they meet our requirements, obtain their certificate of insurance naming the Liberty Prairie Foundation as additionally insured, and familiarize them with the Barn. To help your event run smoothly, outside caterers must arrange a tour of the Byron Colby Barn 2-3 weeks before your event. These professional licensed caterers must provide all food service and professional serving staff, and must have their own commercial kitchen. For our protection and yours, only professional caterers are allowed to provide catering at the Byron Colby Barn. We offer the flexibility to select from our Preferred Caterers, or from any other professional caterer, and cannot accommodate non-professional caterers. The Byron Colby Barn’s large gourmet catering kitchen is available for use by your professional caterer and features single and triple sinks, an eight-burner Viking commercial stove, commercial refrigerator, two dishwashers, and a small freezer. Caterers must clean the kitchen after use.
Many of the Preferred Caterers provide a licensed, insured bartender for your event. If you are serving alcohol (cash bars are prohibited), you must hire a licensed, insured bartender either through your professional caterer or from one of the following:
